Abstract

|
A virginal hypertrophy of the breast is a term applied to the abnormal enlargement of the breast tissue usually occuing at the menarache in girl, and becoming progressively more severe
with passage of the time.
By reports. in literature, the condition appear to be an abnormat end organ response to normal hormonal stimulation without endocrine disturbance.´
Simple reduction =´mammopl_asty is the treatment of choice in macromastia, but surgical treaament of the virginal hypertrophy of breast by reduction mammoplasty has proven unsusseful in large percent of case, owing to regrowth in short time. In our case, 14-yeras old girl exhibit massive bilateral breast hypertrophy, beginning 1. 5 yeras prior her evaluation. Subcutaneous mastectomy and free nipple grfat was performed.
